NNGASU Architectural Workshop

The architectural workshop of NNGASU was established on 1 November 2006. The Chief Architect is Anna L. Gelfond, Professor, Doctor of Architecture, corresponding member of the RAASN.

A large amount of historical and urban planning research is carried out in the architectural workshop. The workshop develops scientific and design documentation for the restoration of cultural heritage objects, projects of residential and public buildings, as well as projects for the formation of a comfortable urban environment. Employees of the Departments of Architectural Design, History of Architecture and Fundamentals of Architectural Design, Building Structures and other engineering specialties of the University conduct design work in the architectural workshop. An integrated approach, thanks to the participation of several departments from the university, allows to perform a wide range of tasks in the design of various structures.

The main tool of the architectural education in NNGASU is the connection between architectural science and architectural practice, so Master students take an active part in the work of the workshop under the guidance of university teachers. This allows them to delve into the design process and get not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills of real design during the training period.

Designing objects for the Nizhny Novgorod Region is a priority for the workshop.
